It’s early on Monday the sun’s not up yet,
The lights are all off in the house.
The coffee pot’s brewin a fresh cup of joe,
Cause there’s no way that I’d go without.
The dog is asleep on the floor next to me,
And the fireplace still putting off heat.

It’s another day, that I won’t let get in the way.
It’s five AM and I can’t ride my skateboard or crank my electric guitar.
So I grab my acoustic and write a new song.
I think that I like it so far, maybe a few small tweaks before I call it done.

Then I’ll pack it all up and the day will go on.
My mind’s already thinking of the day ahead, and I wonder what it’s gonna bring.
It might be a good day but it just might not, the future I just cannot see.
