The winter sunset’s gloom expels the light.
The solstice comes, inviting the old rite. Upon the hill, a temple stands alone,
where strange, devoted, vile, inhuman things
have sacrificed upon the mystic stone,
since long before the first Etruscan kings. Now the path is walked once more
up to the crumbling ritual site,
to call the one that men abhor,
out of the deepest voids of night. Before the shrine, the gathered halt.
They see the winding, strange motifs
depicting what they will exalt,
in friezes and in carved reliefs. The portico resounds with verse,
till now unsung by human choirs.
The light on the old tablet’s curse
is the same stars and new-lit fires. The idol of the one they call
is brought before the waiting crowd.
And as one horrid voice from all,
they chant the curse’s words aloud. O, omnipresent emperor of night,
Monstrum dormiens
awaken and consume this living heart.
Sacrificium Rise up in all your everlasting might,
Expergiscere
and rip this hypocritic world apart.
Pater noctis As darkness takes its firmest stranglehold,
they pay the solemn ferryman with blood,
to carry back the majesty of old,
who reigned unfettered long before the flood. The wine from the libation bowl
will immolate the chosen soul. The haruspex eviscerates
the bloodless victim and consults
the entrails. Seeing what awaits,
he takes the liver and exults. He holds it high up in the air,
for all to see it shining black.
And by it’s form he can declare:
The ancient god is coming back. O, omnipresent emperor of night,
Monstrum dormiens
awaken and consume this living heart.
Sacrificíum Rise up in all your everlasting might,
Expergiscere
and rip this hypocritic world apart.
Pater noctis Your night-black wings will spread above once more.
Tenebras totas
Materialize and hear our pleading call.
Invocamus Return us to the nothingess of yore,
Interfice
besiege this rotting realm and slaughter all.
Extingue omnes

A spirit damned to bleak descent,
unhinged by pain without release,
begot one final monument
of black and gruesome agonies. Fingers digging deep into
a carcass’ sallow flesh and bone.
The torso gives as teeth bite through,
he gorges to protect his throne. Strange and masterful creation.
Wonder, rendered out of sight.
A soul condemned to ruination
by the daughters of the night. In a torrent of dark that was never to cease
he wrought horrors upon the walls.
In the smothering silence of torturous peace
he heard the abyssal calls. Towering upon the hill,
a god from out the ancient days
has gathered them to speak his will
and teach them the forgotten ways. Strange and masterful creation,
wonder rendered out of sight.
A soul condemned to ruination
by the daughters of the night. In the shadowy crypt under lightless skies,
was a phantasmagoria of fates.
By the flickering flames and the unmoving eyes
he was opening up the gates. In a torrent of dark that was never to cease
he wrought horrors upon the walls.
In the smothering silence of torturous peace
he heard the abyssal calls. In seclusion and furor he answered back,
with a madness rendered in paint.
A masterpiece out of sickness and black
without sanity’s constraint.

From the wells of distant night. Through unbroken, shrouded lines,
elder knowledge was upheld.
Unforgotten were the shrines
where the spirits of the timeworn dwelled,
silent still.
Now the world of man remains
ignorant in peace until
they emerge from their domains. Mountainous leviathan is rising from the past,
black miasmas slowly spread.
Devastating revelator, grim iconoclast,
feed until this world is dead. Called from out the pit below
he will reach the earthly shore.
Once again mankind will know
forgotten horrors when he goes to war,
viciously.
As once more the sky invites
malice of antiquity,
rising from the olden sites. Mountainous leviathan is rising from the past,
black miasmas slowly spread.
Devastating revelator, grim iconoclast,
feed until this world is dead. Purging the world of thoughts without worth,
clerics of falsehoods thrown on the pyres.
Smoke of catharsis covers the earth,
scriptures of fallacies, burnt with the liars. Come, drink your fill,
for the blood of man remains
unbeset by fear until
you emerge from your domains. Mountainous leviathan is rising from the past,
black miasmas slowly spread.
Devastating revelator, grim iconoclast,
feed until this world is dead. Fire of catharsis, torch the world.

Cover art by Scott Buoncristiano. Lyrics:
Carved from stone, a great primaeval
entity, unearthly stands.
Instrument of our upheaval,
chiseled by unhuman hands. Vapors clasp the marble, twining,
sculpted from a single block.
Luminescence sickly shining
through the pale and glistening rock. Art beyond terrestrial learning,
a Carraran prophecy.
Eldritch titan, soon returning,
faceless, wondrous mystery. Seen in crumbling grimoires, bound
with unwilling human skin,
reaching down to walk the ground
as the revelries begin. Abomination set in stone,
a living holocaust portrayed.
Depicted, hidden and unknown,
what one distorted spirit made. A glorious corporeal
astral apocalypse of old.
A shadow, immemorial,
a cosmic pestilence foretold. Stone foreboding heavens crawling,
incognizable to man.
Thousand devotees are calling
cross the void’s abyssal span. Seen in crumbling grimoires, bound
with unwilling human skin,
reaching down to walk the ground
as the ravagings begin. Abomination set in stone,
a living holocaust portrayed.
Depicted, hidden and unknown,
what one distorted spirit made. A glorious corporeal
astral apocalypse of old.
A shadow, immemorial,
a cosmic pestilence foretold.

http://www.astrophobos.com Lyrics:
Inured to erosions of time and of rot,
I have journeyed and waited and sought. I have wandered through crypt and illusion,
with remains of the lesser trampled under my feet.
I have been given the horror of premonition,
to know of inescapable, cosmic defeat. I have waited with unwavering patience,
through the glacial movements of time.
I have seen malignant constellations
with hidden purpose, crawling the vault, sublime. I have searched in graves lying yawning,
breathing abominations into the gloom,
to find the begetter of a tenebrous dawning,
inanimate, still, in some sepulchral womb. Into the ominous gateways of dreaming,
in search of the spirit of primeval might.
Drawn by a curious, unnamable gleaming,
born from the sleep of a sentient blight. Out of the depths came a cold exhalation,
a twisted, enticing and summoning call,
enticing with visions of annihilation.
I’ll revel in witnessing everything fall. I have felt the irruption of blazes
as new worlds have sprung out of nought.
I have seen when extinction embraces
all of them, in time, without thought. I have persevered with patience unfailing,
haunting the shadowy relict structures beneath.
Hardened to the absonous iblis wailing.
I have swam through the fathomless ocean of teeth. Out of deep
chasms of the night.
I have watched,
but not with my own sight. Tendrils of visions invaded
my spirit and drove me to find
the sight that in me never faded,
that harrowed and smoldered my mind. I have found the eater of civilizations,
buried, but gazing with my eyes.
Hegemon, hear my reverent adulations.
My longing for delirium and demise. Out of deep
chasms of the night.
I have watched,
but not with my own sight. Into the ominous gateways of dreaming,
in search of the spirit of primeval might.
Drawn by a curious, unnamable gleaming,
born from the sleep of a sentient blight. Out of the depths came a cold exhalation,
a twisted, enticing and summoning call,
enticing with visions of annihilation.
I’ll revel in witnessing everything fall. Into the ominous gateways of dreaming,
in search of the spirit of primeval might.
Drawn by a curious, unnamable gleaming,
born from the sleep of a sentient night. Out of the depths came a cold exhalation,
a twisted, enticing and summoning call,
enticing with visions of annihilation.
I’ll revel in witnessing everything fall. Outside the ruins I’m waiting,
and countless ages have passed.
The quelling of light is elating,
as the catafalque opens at last.
